I love this collection of photos of my daughter. I think they really show her fun nature and vibrant personality (and I adore the remaining chub on her little toddler arms!).
Shortly after her birthday party to celebrate her turning 2 years old (oh my!), I dressed her up again in her party dress and we did a quick photo session.
I know these photos may give the illusion that my daughter is a cooperative photo subject and patiently sat for me as I took her photo.
Just like any other young child, you have to make the shoot fun, keep their attention, and be patient. At first, this meant climbing up on the chair and sitting for me. After about 5 minutes, it meant running around the chair.
After about 10-15 minutes the chair got old and that's when I pulled out the balloons. Fortunately, we had some helium leftover from her party to fill a bunch just for our shoot.
I realized quickly that my daughter would have fun bringing me the balloons.
I would have loved to have gotten a shot of her sitting in the chair while holding the string of balloons, but my daughter had no interest in doing that for me. More important than anything, I wanted the shoot to be fun for both her and I.
So, she brought the balloons to me over and over again while I clicked away.
I got my shots of my vibrant cutie pie that show her true personality right now at 2 years old. She had fun climbing on her chair and playing with balloons. A win-win for both of us. That's what I call a successful photo session.

We had a beautiful weekend here in Maryland. So beautiful that it deserved a couple of days at the beach. A couple of days filled with so many firsts for this little lady and so much fun for us all.

After celebrating my little girl's second birthday a little more than a week ago, I didn't expect to take a blogcation. But, before I knew it, the week got away from me and there were no blog posts. I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things this week. I have a lot to share!

A couple of weeks ago, I gave a sneak peek of this senior photo session. The shoot took place in the quaint and charming town of Old Ellicott City. If you're not familiar with the area, it's a historic town that oozes character. I love to spend the better part of a day there - eating, shopping, or just admiring the scenery. With its old brick and stone buildings and train tracks, it's full of great photo ops, especially for a high school senior portrait session. After discussions with this gal and her mother, and understanding the look they wanted to achieve, I knew it would be the perfect spot for this shoot.
Not only was I excited about the shoot location, but I was equally excited about my photo subject. Over the years, my family has become quite close with this young lady and her family. I can't believe she'll be graduating from high school shortly! I know her mother feels the same way! Where does the time go?
We've had past photo sessions together, so I just knew she'd make things easy for me. This young lady is very photogenic and at-ease in front of the camera. Not only has she grown into a gorgeous young lady, she's equally kind-hearted and sweet (especially to my daughter!). Please enjoy some of my favorites from our session together.

We had a fun night out this past Saturday and, at the same time, supported a good cause. We attended a spaghetti dinner benefitting the local Lions Club and Volunteer Fire Department. For a change of pace, the men put on their finest dresses and served the crowd, hence "Ugly Waitress Spaghetti Dinner." You'll see from the following photos that the men had more fun than we anticipated :-)

After all, this sweet little baby is turning two this weekend. I can hardly believe it. Her cheeks remain just as pinchable and kissable!
