Earlier this month, I shared a few of my favorites from my most recent maternity session. Well... today, I'd like to introduce you to this pretty, little lady. I was super excited to visit their home once again and meet their newest addition. She was a sweetie and I always enjoy the calmness and tranquility of photographing a sleepy, warm newborn. Just looking at these images brings me peace.
As you know, I recently had the pleasure of photographing this expectant mama and her family. I have here a few of my favorites from our session together.
It's such an honor to be asked to capture this pivotal time in their lives, as their family grows from three to four.
Our session took place on a cold, winter morning. Leading up to the shoot, we had opted to take pictures indoors rather than venture out into the windy, chilly weather. I'm glad that we stayed inside. I always love taking photos of my clients in their homes. There's something so warm and cozy about it. And the at-home sessions are always so relaxed and fun.
How sweet is that face?
I loved taking photos of this little cutie. As I shoot, I'm always talking to my clients - giving them some direction as to what I'm looking for and helping them to feel more comfortable. With children, I ask them questions to keep them engaged. This cutie pie had the funniest and most unexpectant reponses to my questions!
Their baby girl is due any day now and I can hardly wait to meet her. Stay tuned! More images to come!
If you follow me on Facebook, you'll know that I started the new year off by photographing this pretty lady and her family as they wait for baby # 2. The session was fun and relaxed and I think her expressions in these two photos show that well. I look forward to showing you more from our shoot very soon! In the meantime, have a great week!
I may be absent from here over the next week or so as I get ready for Christmas. In the meantime, I'm wishing you all a very merry last few days of 2012.
This is how our latest session began. Evidently, he didn't know we had a shoot scheduled. And it wasn't just any ole shoot either. We had a cake smash planned to celebrate his first birthday.
Good thing it didn't take him long to wake up.
And lucky for us, he woke up on the right side of the crib. We were, after all, disturbing his nap.
His mom and dad got him dressed and it wasn't long before we were on a roll.
He was flashing me his big, contagious grins.
We saved the best for last.
It didn't take much convincing for him to dive right in.
After a fun time with the cake, we realized a swim in the bath tub would be the perfect ending to this session (and it looks like he agrees).
Maya and Apollo made out pretty well too. While the little guy was getting cleaned up, they got permission to clean up the cake mess. If you've been a reader around here long enough, you may remember them from my newborn session with this family. They make the sweetness big sister and brother.
I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to photograph this sweetie pie and his family over this past year. It was a joy to watch and capture this important first year for them.
This little guy's mama scored some adorable props and attire that worked perfectly for this shoot. Here are the links to the fabulous shops:
The cake smashing cake is from Woodmoor Pastry Shop.
The little boys' brown tweed onesie with matching birthday hat is from Sweet Lily Tutus.
The personalized birthday hat is from Apple K Embroidery.
The blue and white embroidered diaper cover is from Sweet Friday's Child.
